So I'm making the assignment be what I originally said, bring copies of the item that you choose from your "how to" book to share with those in class who don't have that book. Since at least 1/2 the class has the book just bring 5 copies (B & W is fine).
So choose the one you think is best from your how to book and just have a 5-7 minute presentation to explain the process to the rest of class. Do NOT use the same item that someone else chose (you must put the book and page numbers and topic in the comments below).
The purpose is to share an example that you think is illustrated particularly well and make a very mini-lesson out of it. Your 5-7 minute lesson is not limited to just using the pages in the book (it wouldn't take you that long to read it verbatim aloud).

Be sure to bring your "How ______ Works" books (otherwise you'll need more copies).
I plan on doing Chapter 44 - How Firewalls Work) from the How the Internet Works book.
I am going to do pages 212 and 213 out of How the Internet works on how the Wikipedia works.
I'm planning on doing pages 200-201 out of How the Internet Works on google searches and desktops.
I'm going to show the class "How Mice Obey Your Every Gesture" from pages 232 and 233.

I will be discussing pages 16-17 from chapter 1, How the Motherboard Brings it All Home from the book "How Computers Works".

I will be doing pages 260-261 How Auto Exposure Works on Digital Camera.
I plan to explain In the How Computer Works.. "How a Drive writes to Rewritable CDs and DVDs" page 178-179.
I will be doing "How Palmtop and Table PCs work" from "How Computers Work" on 252-253.
